Sex. Love. God.

Sex, Love & God

generation y. the millenials. generation next. the echo boomers. the net generation.

we’ve heard society call this generation, the college and twenty-something crowd, by several different names. but we’ve also heard God call this generation by name…

chosen. set apart. purposed. ambassadors for His kingdom.

we are passionate to see this generation, the “college somethings”, encounter Jesus Christ in such powerful ways that lead to set-apart lives given to spreading His message and His fame.

we believe that we have a part to play in this. for many of you in this generation, you’ll be where you are now for just a couple of years. before long, God will call you out and ask you to live out His gospel in unique contexts spread across the globe. when that happens, we want you to be thoroughly equipped for every good work. to that end, we’re calling your generation together a few different times over the coming months. through events, discussions, relationships, and more, we’re going to pursue God’s heart regarding some of the key issues surrounding your generation. our aim is to create space for you to encounter Jesus in ways that equip you to live lives marked by truth, true identity, purpose, worship, and community.

we want to see a movement of college-something Jesus followers spread across every corner of the earth and shout to every people group that Jesus is alive, He is good, and He is Lord.

)when will the audio of this event be put online? it was an amazing event and really gave me a new perspective on my dating life!

I am so thankful that RockHarbor held this event! I went both nights, and each night affected me in a unique, lasting way. I finally dealt with a ton of junk that was permeating my life and keeping me from giving Jesus my all. It was messy, but it was a total turning point in my walk with God. I feel like my relationship with my boyfriend is headed down an entirely different path, the one that God wanted for us, and have discovered the wonder and power behind praying with your significant other. I thought it was strange at first that I found prayer with him to feel romantic, but it makes sense that connecting together with our Creator (who invented romance!) would make us feel closer.

I loved this conference. What a better way to learn about freedom and restoration in the area of sexuality than with people my age! I went on Friday night. I heard testimonies and it extremely touched my heart. I’ve struggled alot with homosexuality and have felt so ashamed and angry at myself for feeling that way. It’s good to know that God can love me in my brokenness and He desires to make me whole.
I’m so glad that God isn’t scared of my sin because His love is bigger! Thank God for the Bridegroom Jesus Christ!

It takes a lot for me to admit this, but I have not loved myself, or thought that God could love myself, in a really long time. I have always thought that the struggle I endure with my own personal image translates to how much (or in my case, little) God chooses to care about me. I went to SexLoveGod this past week to show Him that I can still be a good Christian girl, in spite of my reckless, self-destructive, extremely empty behavior. I left Plummer Auditorium with an alarming shift in my perspective of Gods faith. I had a wall breakdown within me on Friday night. I cannot fully explain it but to sum it up it’s this: I cannot ever earn Gods love. It is unconditional. I can choose to come bear an honest heart to Him, confess and repent, and invite His love in to my story. He’s been waiting to join me in my battle all along.
Thank you, thank you, thank you RockHarbor, for creating a safe space where I could experience this raw, vulnerable moment with Jesus Christ. I found myself in the midst of confiding everything in Him through deep wounds and tears, and in return He filled my soul with wholeness and gave me the priceless gift of self worth. Ya’ll have truly rocked my world. Continue being great! xoxoxox)

Thanks! I received Jesus at this event! Nothing can fill the emptiness I’ve felt for such a long time as Jesus has! I’m so stoked to have this feeling. Thanks to my buddies taking me to this event, for the openness of the speakers on Friday who helped me to become more open to the God of heaven, and to the prayer counselor Josh who prayed with me. You all are a blessing, and have helped me put religion aside, and seek a relationship with my Savior!! “I’ve found a LOVE!!!!!”

Thank you RH for being vessels to let the Spirit work through the community. Pastors, volunteers, and anyone else involved; your hard work and prayers made this a night that will be honored and remembered in The Eternal Kingdom. This was an event where our Father showed His glory. Lives were changed. Wounds were healed. New loves have been established. Sex, Love, and God has restored my connection to Him. Thank You

First off, this reach out was such an uplifting experience. God’s name was glorified and His presence was completely surrounding each and every person!!! God is sooo good!
Secondly, replying to Tyler, some of the songs were…
    Beautiful One
    All I Am is Yours
    Awesome God
    You Alone Can Rescue
    Shackles Praise You
    Ive Found a Love

    =] God Bless

Thanks Josh for the prayer, bro!

  10. Justin | 2010.01.30

I was able to go to the first night but was unable to attend the second…is there any way that this seminar thing was recorded or podcasted so i can listen to it? And if so how can i get it?

  11. Tyler | 2010.01.30

I just want to say that the message both nights was fantastic, really allowed me to open up and confront some things I’ve been dealing with. Anybody know what the last few songs they played at the end of the 2nd day were?
